柴田 めいこ ガラス工芸作家（ガラスと石のモザイク・ステンドグラス） 所属団体：日本ガラス工芸協会 東京生まれ 幼少期をドイツ・ドュッセルドルフの田舎町にて過ごす 1990年 東京デザイナー学院 工芸工業デザイン科在学中よりモザイク壁画作家 故小島和茂氏に師事 2006年に独立 主に森の中で目に留まった自然（葉、虫、野鳥、菌類、苔 etc…）をモチーフに、建築物のガラス装飾、エントランスのモニュメント、オブジェ制作など

Meiko Shibata Glass and Stone mosaic/Stained glass artist Associations: JGAA(Japan glass art crafts association) Born in Tokyo, Japan, but also spent her childhood in Dusseldorf, Germany. She began to apprentice under Kazushige Kojima(1944-2003, mosaic wall art artist) while she was in TDG. She became independent in 2006. She is a big nature lover who loves Japanese mountains/forests where she can find the deep green hues of moss covering the ground , rocks, trees, birds, various insects with different shapes and colors. She even strolls through the forest, searching for Fungi and Myxomycetes. Then she takes a closer look to every single components of the forests, captures artistic images to reflect to her glass art.
